Performance Enhancement of Grid-Connected PV Systems Based on Pelican Optimization Algorithm

Due to gas emission problems and limitation of fossil fuel, generation of electric energy will depend mainly on renewable resources. A photovoltaic system is one of the most promising forms of renewable energy. However, it has specific issues, such as efficiency and stability. The major disruptions associated with PV systems are irradiance non-uniformity, temperature change, and partial shading occasions. Research in the literature tends to focus on improving the stability of grid-connected PV systems while delivering maximum energy to the grid. This paper uses the Pelican optimization algorithm (POA) approach to extract maximum power (MPP).The computational efficiency of (POA) is compared with conventional techniques such as (P&O).POA results in a less steady state, settling time, and maximum percentage overshot. However, it also has disadvantages because the duty cycle has been determined offline at a specific condition. The simulations were implemented using MATLAB/Simulink.
