Blockchain and Game Theory-Based Incentivized Mechanism for EVs in Charging Stations

In the recent era, the tremendous emergence of electric vehicles (EVs) across the globe has modernized the traditional transportation system due to its prevalent benefits of reduced carbon emissions in the environment. However, EVs arriving with the colossal energy demand at the charging station (CS) can be susceptible to various security and privacy issues that need to be tackled in a protected environment. Moreover, one more additional aspect of optimal allocation is not discussed to that extent. Therefore, we have proposed a blockchain and game theory-enabled incentivized mechanism for EV (priority emergency and non-priority emergency) charging allocation. The proposed mechanism utilizes Interplanetary File System (IPFS) protocol to ensure cost-efficient, r eliable, a nd efficient data communication for EVs using a 5G communication network. Furthermore, the coalition game theory is formulated between priority emergency and preemptable EVs to obtain the optimal payoff for charging allocation based on the incentive. Finally, the proposed mechanism is simulated with various performance metrics such as convergence and profit analysis.
