Proposing a Gender Friendly Learning and Teaching Platform

The largest gap in our education system is that it does not provide uniformity and unbiasedness towards its learners. This is often faced by the transgender community which can limit their opportunities for personal and professional growth. Sensitization about this issue is useless until all the stakeholders in education are willing to acknowledge change and the only way to embrace that is through education. These types of learners often experience social stigma, harassment, severe anxiety, personality issues and therefore discontinue their education or strive very hard to face the challenges and become successful in life. As responsible Indian citizens it is our duty therefore, to provide innovative solutions through technology so as to “Connect, Educate and Employ“ the transgender population. In this paper, an e-learning platform, “Sahayata“ is introduced which will offer a one-stop solution for transgender people by leveraging their skills through education and establishing their independence through employment.
