Optimization of Serration Process in Worm Shaft

A worm shaft is 90.6 mm in total height and 20.7 mm in diameter and the serration process takes place on the worm shaft. But, Due to the elasticity properties of the Material after the serration process, the serration height from the worm face is increased. In this process worm shaft was not held in the die so, there was coming a variation of 80 microns in the serration height from the worm face. So, that's why to overcome this problem, to hold the worm shaft 1st time in the die for 1 second for cooling then, the variation reduces from 80 microns to 60 microns and now, again 2nd time to hold the piece in the die for 3 seconds then, variation again reduce from 60 microns to 30 microns.
