Perception of Teacher Trainees on the Utility of Information and Communication Technology in Teacher Training Institutes

The purpose of the study was to study the perception of teacher trainees on the utility of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teacher training institutes. The present study is descriptive in nature; therefore, descriptive survey method was used. A self-constructed perception scale on the utility of ICT in teacher training institutes by the researchers was used to collect the data from 310 teacher trainees studied (2022–23) in teacher training institutes situated in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, India through the purposive sampling technique. Mean, standard deviation, and z-test were the statistical techniques used for data analysis. The results reveal that teacher trainees favour the use of ICT in teacher training institutes; and there is statistically significant difference in the perception of teacher trainees on the utility of ICT in teacher training institutes with respect to gender and locale.
