Effect of Load Variation & Abnormalities on the Behaviour of Grid-Connected Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator with Improved Control Technique

Integrating power electronics devices into a grid-integrated PMSG system is vital. Before integrating wind energy into power system networks, it is necessary to have a comprehensive working knowledge of fault ride-through ability and short-term voltage stability, so such an understanding becomes vital as wind energy penetration rates continue to rise. Regardless of the type of grid disturbance, future wind turbines must remain connected. To control the wind turbines and meet the exact grid interconnection criteria, reliable operation, and suitable control can be achieved. The performance analysis of wind energy supply systems under various disturbances is shown in this research paper. Generator-side Direct torque control and grid-side unit vector control techniques are implemented. The outcomes of the simulation results demonstrate improvements in fault ride-through and capacity of extracting the peak power of a PMSG-based wind energy supply system.
