Development of an IoT-based portable Weather Station with parameter monitoring and notifications for precision farming

Precision Agriculture leverages technology to revolutionize modern farming. A pivotal challenge within the agricultural sector revolves around elevating productivity and quality while circumventing the need for repetitive physical inspections. The inherent unpredictability and diversity of meteorological conditions pose significant hurdles for farmers, making timely and informed decision-making a constant struggle. In this study, we introduce an exploration of IoT technology's application in field crop monitoring, aiming to enhance agricultural efficiency and productivity. Our research introduces an innovative IoT-based embedded platform, complemented by a suite of specialized sensors and an intuitive user interface. This integrated system empowers farmers to accurately track environmental conditions and their impact on crops, delivering real-time alerts through communication protocols like Lora. By enabling farmers to execute essential agricultural tasks in real-time and optimize resource utilization in alignment with crop-specific requirements, our solution promises to address the capricious nature of Indian weather conditions. Our proposed weather system represents a modest yet pivotal stride toward establishing a Precision Agriculture framework, laying the foundation for a more resilient and efficient agricultural sector.
