Leveraging the Internet of Things Applications for Enhancing Knowledge Management in Information Institutions

This article emphasizes the significance of knowledge management in modern organizations, particularly in information institutions. It highlights the role of the Internet of Things (IoT) in enhancing knowledge management processes, such as production, organization, sharing, and utilization of knowledge, leading to improved services in these institutions. The study adopts a descriptive approach to analyze existing literature, both in Arabic and foreign languages, to explore the intersection of IoT and knowledge management in information institutions. The findings of the study reveal that information institutions have effectively utilized IoT applications in tracking physical and intangible assets within their premises. This enables them to locate lost or misplaced items accurately. Additionally, IoT facilitates the monitoring of visitor numbers, identification of peak hours, and identification of frequently used resources. As a result, information institutions can provide interactive and efficient services that align with the expectations of their beneficiaries. Based on the study's results, it recommends that information institutions proactively embrace IoT applications to address the evolving needs of their beneficiaries. By leveraging IoT technologies, these institutions can optimize their knowledge management activities and enhance service delivery. In summary, this article highlights the importance of knowledge management in information institutions and proposes the integration of IoT applications to support these activities. The successful implementation of IoT enables information institutions to track assets, monitor visitor traffic, and deliver responsive services. The study encourages information institutions to embrace IoT to meet the changing demands of their beneficiaries.
