Energy Optimization Analysis: Household Electricity Consumption Over Time Through Modeling and Simulation

In the Philippines, households heavily rely on energy consumption to maintain their relevance and lifestyle. Specifically, this paper focuses on the total energy consumption of a household over a given time period that is sourced from a local supplier whose clients are primarily families that consist of an acceptable number of members in a household. To this end, the Trapezoid Rule approach is proposed with the aim of maximizing the estimated energy consumption by determining the energy consumed over a given period of time. First, the total monthly energy consumption in kWh is being considered to forecast the desirable output needed. Next, the Trapezoid Rule is developed wherein the objective of the study is realized by the total days iteration to materialize the total energy consumed in a household. Subsequently, the model takes into account several constraints namely, monthly energy consumption in kWh, number of days, and lastly the rate per kWh in peso. Finally, the Trapezoid Rule model is implemented using Replit and Python language to find the optimal monthly energy consumption in a given period of time.
