Development of Virtual Soil Moisture Sensor (VSMS) using Optical and Microwave Remote sensing data

In this research VSMS (Virtual Soil Moisture Sensor) is prepared by the help of Optical MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro-radiometer sensor and Microwave (MW) SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) sensor from Indian RISAT (Radar Imaging Satellite)-1. In reality VSMS is a pictorial (or map) format of soil information for an area of interest (AOI) at the level of 250 meter. For developing VSMS a linear regression equation drive from SM based on Optical data through Temperature Vegetation Dryness Index (TVDI) and SM based on MW data though Modified Water Cloud Model (MWCM). This VSMS is important because it have a good special resolution of 250 meter, precise value of SM during bad weather condition (this capability from MW data) and temporal resolution of par day (this capability from MODIS data).
