Enhancement of the Aperture-Integration Surface-Integration Method for Radome Analysis

The conventional aperture-integration surface-integration (AI-SI) method is enhanced for radome analysis in the transmitting mode. First, a quad-tree-based scheme is proposed to discretize the antenna aperture in an automated manner. The aperture is discretized so that the radome wall is sufficiently in the far-field regions of the subapertures. Furthermore, the automation removes manual interventions and determines the sizes of the subapertures on the fly. Second, an OpenMP-based scheme is developed to parallelize the computation. With the help of a dynamic schedule, the parallelization achieves high scalability with quasilinear speedup. Lastly, the effectiveness of the proposed automatic aperture discretization and parallel AI-SI (AADP AI-SI) is demonstrated by numerical results. The AADP AI-SI improves the accuracy and efficiency of the conventional AI-SI significantly. When compared to full-wave methods, excellent agreement is observed in terms of boresight error (BSE) and transmission loss (TL). Moreover, the relative errors (REs) of the radiation patterns are below 10%.
