Performance Analysis of UAV-based Array Antenna Arrangement for AOA Estimation

UAV-based array antennas can autonomously make the shapes of UAV array to provide an optimized placement to achieve a specific goal. In this paper, we study on the angle-of-arrival estimation performance achieved by distributed beamforming in UAV antenna arrays. Uniform circular and rectangular antenna arrays and their combinations were compared and analyzed. Through the simulation results, we present that an array composed of a combination of antennas performs better in AOA estimation than a single array.
