Mobile Academic Information Systems for Students: Measuring End-User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS)

The Mobile Academic Information System (MAIS) for Students is a mobile-oriented platform designed to facilitate various educational tasks, including course planning, schedule viewing, and access to scholarship offerings. Based on initial investigations by scholars, several issues persist with the existing system, including inaccuracies in grade input and the absence of updated scholarly material. This study aims to assess the level of satisfaction among end users of the MAIS by utilizing the End-User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) model. The EUCS model is a commonly employed framework for assessing the satisfaction levels of end users concerning information technologies. The extended EUCS model, encompasses several criteria, including content, accuracy, format, ease of use, timeliness, and system speed. The research employed a quantitative method through the administration of questionnaires. The participants in this study consisted of students from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta who have utilized a certain application. A total of 117 participants were chosen as the sample for this investigation. The researchers employed purposive and incidental sampling strategies to conduct the sampling process. The data analysis methodology employed in this study utilized the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, utilizing SmartPLS version 3.2.9 software. The findings indicate that the EUCS factors collectively significantly impact user satisfaction, accounting for 71% of the variance. The determinants impacting user satisfaction encompass the aspects of ease of use, timelines, and system speed. According to the study's findings, it is recommended that developers of MAIS prioritize their focus on the aspects that impact user satisfaction. Specifically, the variables not supported by this study, including content, accuracy, and format, should be considered carefully.
