Enhancing Disaster Response Training through Immersive AR/VR Simulations

In the realm of disaster response training, traditional methods often fall short in capturing the intricacies and exigencies of real-world disaster scenarios. This paper introduces a pioneering approach that harnesses the immersive potentials of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) simulations, shaping the ongoing development of disaster response training. We describe a developing AR/VR training platform that seamlessly combines dynamic scenario development, intelligent virtual agents, and real-time collaboration. By bridging the gap between traditional training approaches and the complex requirements of disaster response, this framework aims to improve training. Emergency responders may actively engage with actual scenarios, make crucial decisions, and coordinate activities in this cutting-edge training environment, all inside a controlled yet realistic catastrophe setting. We laid the groundwork for prospective decision-making, coordination, and reaction capability improvements among emergency responders through early insights and conceptualizations. Real-world case studies are also included to further demonstrate the applicability and validity of our methodology. This study investigates a novel method of disaster response training that combines cutting-edge technology with necessary instruction in the hopes of improving emergency responders abilities and self-assurance.
