25.3 Toward Exponential Growth of Therapeutic Neurotechnology

Bioelectronic devices that manipulate and record human neural activity could help patients suffering from debilitating health conditions not effectively treated by drugs. Here we discuss the exponential growth in both neuroscience and neurotechnology that provides the ingredients to fuel exponential growth of implantable neurotechnology as therapeutic options, and the implications this has on circuit design for neurotech applications.
