Equitable Multi-Objective Optimization of Electric Power Grids in the Face of Progressive Wildfire

This paper presents a novel approach for nonlinear multi-objective optimization aimed at enhancing the operational resilience of power grids under progressive wildfire scenarios, concurrently considering the concept of equity. The research initiated with the modeling of wildfires’ influence on power systems, employing mathematical formulations. Subsequently, a nonlinear optimization problem is developed, integrating the wildfire impacts on the grid and equity constraints. A multi-objective function is introduced to simultaneously account for grid resilience and equity criteria during system contingencies. The proposed approach’s effectiveness is demonstrated using the IEEE 30-bus benchmark, showcasing its substantial efficacy.
