Research on the Collaborative Planning of Regional Electric-Thermal Coupled Integrated Energy Systems Based on the Fifth Generation District Heating and Cooling Networks

With global warming, increasing urbanization and the demand for space cooling rising significantly, traditional district heating models are in urgent need of improvement. However, the 5th generation district heating and cooling(5GDHC) can fully solve the above problems and is expected to achieve district energy system optimization on short and long time scales suitable for heating and cooling loads. This paper uses the nPro (www.npro.energy), an innovative design tool, to study the design and operation strategy of 5GDHC, and successfully constructs the 5GDHC optimization model through three steps: load profile modeling, regional heating and cooling network calculations, and energy system design planning, taking Southeast University Jiulonghu Campus as the research object. The simulation results show that the optimized annual heat load is reduced by 5.5%, the cooling load year is reduced by 1.33%, and the energy cost is reduced by 0.5%, which brings considerable energy and economic benefits.
