Estimation of Comprehensive Emission Reduction Benefits of Wind Power Projects in Yunnan Region Based on the Full Life Cycle Theory

Wind energy is one of the renewable energy sources that have a positive impact on climate change. This thesis introduces the concept of whole life cycle carbon emission, comprehensively evaluates the carbon emission reduction benefits of wind power projects from “cradle” to “grave”, and combined with economic benefits to calculate the benefits of comprehensive emission reduction. The results show that compared with conventional coal-fired power plants, wind power projects have better carbon benefits. It can produce less greenhouse gas emissions, and can realize positive comprehensive emission reduction benefits. In this thesis, the relationship between the factors affecting wind power generation and the carbon emission benefits is considered comprehensively, and the annual power generation capacity and the raw material investment cost with the highest carbon emissions are selected as indicators for sensitivity analysis. The analysis finds that changes in power generation are more sensitive to the impact of the value added of comprehensive emission reduction costs.
