Electric Field Simulation Analysis of 10kV Switchgear Based on the Finite Element Method

In this paper, the simulation model of 10kV switchgear is established in COMSOL, and the electric field distribution inside the switchgear is simulated and analyzed by finite element method. Firstly, the distribution of electric field in switchgear under rated voltage is analyzed, and it is concluded that the electric field in switchgear is concentrated at bus bar, both ends of disconnector, conductive rod and contact of circuit breaker. The influence of different bus voltage amplitude on the electric field distribution inside the switchgear is then analyzed. Subsequently, the change curve of the electric field value at the maximum electric field of the inner conductor loop, busbar bushing and insulators at the upper and lower ends of the disconnector in a period with time is extracted. The results show that the electric field values have the same variation trend with time in a period, and the maximum electric field strength of the switchgear increases with the increase of the busbar voltage amplitude. The research results of this paper can provide reference for improving the internal electric field distribution of switchgear and field operation and maintenance.
