Diagnosis of Local Buckling Faults in Transformer Windings Based on Port Transient Electrical Signals

The safe operation of power transformers is related to the stability of power system, in order to identify transformer winding faults, this paper gets the frequency response curve of transformer winding based on the port transient electrical signal, then combines the amplitude-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency characteristics of the frequency response curve into a gray map, extracts the texture features of the gray gradient co-generation matrix of the image according to the gray map, calculates the feature correlation degree (FCD) based on the extracted 8 texture features to identify winding faults, and finally perform a fault simulation of local warpage on an equal scale power transformer. The results show that there are differences in the grayscale maps transformed by the transient electrical signals of the ports at different fault levels, and the values of the feature correlation degree (FCD) of different fault windings are significantly different, and there are corresponding patterns for different fault levels. Based on the eight features extracted from the grayscale image and the corresponding feature correlation degree, we can distinguish the fault location and fault degree in the case of local warpage fault of power transformer.
