A Multiband Patch Antenna Using Meander Line for Wireless Communication

In this proposed article, a simple monopole patch antenna with meander line for multiband operation is introduced. Using meander line into the patch antenna design the overall performance of antenna gives better simulated results. The dimensions of the proposed antenna are (24×20×1.6) mm

which is compact in size and can be easily combined with other devices. This proposed antenna is implemented on FR-4 substrate with height of 1.6mm having dielectric constant 4.4 and loss tangent value is 0.02. The proposed design is simulated by CadFeko Software tool. The designed antenna is resonant at four frequencies 6.52 GHz, 9.22 GHz, 11.95 GHz and 13.74 GHz which covers C, X and Ku bands. The response of designed multiband antenna is showed in terms of return loss (S11), efficiency, Voltage SWR, 2-D radiation pattern, 3-D radiation pattern, current and gain.
