Automating Load Banks for Enhanced Testing Efficiency

Load banks are crucial tools for testing power sources, dissipating electrical energy as heat. However, they often present challenges like heat emissions, remote operation limitations, and the need for manual coordination. This IEEE paper introduces an innovative solution: the automation of load banks. Our approach leverages the ESP32 microcontroller, relay control modules, and cloud connectivity to streamline load bank operations. This automation reduces manual intervention, enables dynamic load control, and facilitates real-time monitoring, making load banks more adaptable to changing requirements. By exploring the system's architecture and load control algorithm, this paper presents a practical solution for modernizing load bank operations in industrial settings. This advancement enhances testing efficiency and responsiveness, aligning load banks with the evolving demands of industry stakeholders.
