A Distributed Power Flow Optimization Method Based on Grid Decomposition

With the increasing complexity of power systems, distributed optimal power flow (OPF) calculation becomes an important part of ensuring efficient operation. The reasonable decomposition and simplification of the system can improve the computing speed while maintaining high accuracy. This paper addresses the above challenges and puts forward a distributed power flow optimization method. The power system optimization is modelled in the first step, and the constraints are converted into the formula with semi-definite relaxations. Then, the network topology of power systems is re-constructed by grid-broken. With the aid of grid decomposition and convex relaxation technique, distributed computing is realized by the improved alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) technique. The proposed method is verified by the case study and extended to a physical device.
