Adaptive Finite-Time Control for the Chemotherapy of Brain Tumor via NN-Based Backstepping Approach

A brain tumor is a significant class of diseases that pose a threat to human health. Based on the logistic growth law of brain tumor cells and host cells, a brain tumor with drug model is constructed. N ext, a NN - based backstepping tracking controller is designed to control the dosage of chemotherapeutic drug to effectively treat brain tumors. In contrast to the existing works, the considered brain tumor model allows for parameter uncertainties due to measurement errors and physical limitations. It proved by the Lyapunov stability theory that the number of brain tumor cells can be reduced to a desired reference value in a finite time. Simulation results show that the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy for reducing brain tumor cells. Notably, the proposed approach has potential implications for the development of treatment plans for brain tumor chemotherapy, and provides theoretical support for controlling the dosage of chemotherapeutic drug.
