Sampling Load Frequency Control of Time-Delay Power System Based on Warm-Up Grey Wolf Optimizer

Power system load frequency control (LFC) usually uses PID control to regulate the active power output of generator to maintain the stability of power grid frequency. LFC using wide area communication network for signal transmission is affected by transmission delay and data sampling, and its control performance may become worse. In this paper, the problem of LFC of power system under the influence of transmission delay and data sampling is discussed, and a parameter optimization strategy of PID based on Warm-up Grey Wolf Optimizer (WGWO) is proposed. A power system LFC model including transmission delay and data sampling is established, and then an LFC system PID parameter optimization strategy considering transmission delay and data sampling is designed based on WGWO. Finally, the proposed parameter optimization strategy is tested in a single-area power system LFC to verify the necessity of LFC considering transmission delay and data sampling and the superiority of WGWO in parameter optimization of LFC controller.
