Robust Max Min Max Optimization Approach for Multi-Carrier Energy System

Due to the erratic nature of energy market prices and resources that are renewable, multi-energy system operators have extremely difficult challenges when trying to make the best decisions. Because of this, this study provides a trustworthy uniform max-min-max optimization-based decision-making tool that takes into account both the ambiguity of energy market pricing and the unpredictable nature of wind output. The EH interacts with both the electricity and gas markets, buying natural gas to fuel CHP (combined heat and power) and boilers systems as well as to meet demand for gas. In addition, a system for electric storage is employed to decrease the adverse unpredictability of the price of electricity on the market. Additionally, an Unpredictability budget model is suggested to take into account both positive and negative variations in energy market prices, giving the system the opportunity to become more robust against sources of forecasting uncertainty. The model's nonlinearities are linearized by employing practical methods, and GAMS is used to solve the resulting linear mathematical model. Additionally, the EH is linked to the power gas (P2G) battery system to connect the electrical and gas supply networks by converting electricity to hydrogen and ultimately to natural gas.
