Study on Optimal Control Strategy of Urban Traffic Network Based on Minimum Emission

In this paper, an optimal control strategy is proposed aiming to minimize the traffic emission in urban road network. Car-following model embedded into VISSIM was analyzed and the total emissions was calculated in the traffic network through the call of VISSIM-COM interface. The calculated emission was converted into the fitness function value in the algorithm under the combination of VISSIM and VS environment. The optimal signal timing of each intersection and phase offset between each twin intersection in network was optimized through an improved annealing genetic algorithm. The simulation was conducted to verify the optimal model and the results show that the optimal control strategy is valid and the improved simulated annealing genetic algorithm can effectively solve the signal parameters in road network.
