An Underwater Channel Estimation Algorithm Based on OFDM

This paper proposes a new underwater channel estimation algorithm based on Compressed sensing. This algorithm is based on the structure of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) for channel estimation, and adaptively adjusts the threshold according to the level of signal-to-noise ratio (SNRs), which can better adapt to changes in the underwater environment. Through experimental simulation, the performance of the algorithm was evaluated based on channel estimation error and system overhead. The results show that the new algorithm outperforms the orthogonal Matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm in multiple aspects. Therefore, this algorithm is a more effective channel estimation algorithm in underwater acoustic communication, contributing to the improvement of the quality of underwater communication.
