Optimizing Solar Thermal Energy Storage In Net-Zero Energy Buildings With Earth-Air Heat Exchangers

In order to create high-performance buildings, net-zero emissions. Energy Buildings (NZEB) integrate renewable energy technologies with passive design concepts. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness of various integrated renewable energy sources in the Mediterranean region's almost zero energy buildings. The Earth-Air Heat Exchanger (EAHE), the Underwater Tank (UNT), and the Solar Thermal Collector are the three main systems that are the subject of this research. In order to initiate the process, we first looked at the energy efficiency that comes from using UNT and EAHE together to meet heating needs. To make this study easier, an experimental laboratory with monitoring sensors was built. The research then moved on to a numerical assessment of the energy efficiency attained by the integration of an EAHE and the coupling of UNT with a rooftop solar thermal collector. Improving the pace at which heating demands are covered was the aim.
