Design & Implementation of Smart Ventilator for Respiratory Diseases

The COVID-19 pandemic spread across the world in recent years which resulted in mortalities within short span of time. The death rate increased drastically in the region where there was lack of medical facilities Many patients experienced Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), It is condition where patients are treated with external ventilation. To overcome the shortage mechanical, the proposed system is designed and tested as an Emergency Ventilator (EV). It controls a patient's peak aspiratory pressure (PIP) & breathing rate. The Ambu bag is used to develop the ventilator. The prototype is designed & developed which controls the parameters such as Tidal volume, respiration rate & I/E ratio. The proposed system design is developed to provide an automatic air intake to support cases of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients.
