Autonomous Surveillance Robot (ASR): A Video Surveillance Rover for Military Applications

Security in the border areas has always been a threat to mankind. Even if we try to increase security, the cost to implement the same security system will increase exponentially. Apart from the cost, the human deprivation due to a few problems like bomb blast is also a substantial issue. In ordinance to solve this issue, this work aims to give the best security in the border areas with the minimum cost. This rover can work in manual mode which can be controlled using fly-sky. First this is splitted into 2 ends of operation. This includes user end and rover end. On the user end, there will be a fly-sky transmitter which will be able to send the signal up to 1km range. In the first module this work aims to make the rover run through the motor driver, fly-sky receiver and Arduino to implement its testing process in all directions. Second module consists of detecting bombs using metal detection. This module will be placed under the rover that detects the metallic intrusion and sends the output to the 3rd module. In the 3rd module GPS location is included where the output of the metal detection will be given as input to the GPS sensor which will send the exact location of the metal where it is detected through nrf24l01 transmitting module(1 km range) placed in the rover end. This transmitting module will send the signal to the receiving end of the nrf2401 module which will be placed in the user end. In the 4th module, need to integrate an arm controller with a camera at the gripper end which will rotate 360 up to degree the view of which will also be sent to the user end. This will reduce the cost of making the rover enormously. In the 5th module our work aims to display all locations (latitude and longitude) and the camera view to the user end through PyQt5. This will give the whole view of the rover movement, the camera view and also the location of the bomb where it should be detected.
