Power and Signal Transmission for Electric Vehicles by Using Cascaded Multilevel Inverter

BLDC motors are widely used because of its improved efficiency, ease of manufacture, reduced cost, greater torque or high output power per unit volume, and lower maintenance requirements, high power, high voltage applications. To power the BLDC motor, an electrical commutator (inverter) is necessary. The PWM inverter operates admirably. Harmonic distortions are an issue with two-level inverters. PWM methods make it possible to generate sinusoids with variable voltages and frequencies from discrete voltage levels in multilevel inverters. Increasing the number of voltage steps is one solution to the aforementioned problems. The three level approach has the advantage of allowing the production of multilevel voltage waveforms using lower voltage rated equipment. To do this, multilevel inverters can be employed. The traditional technique causes considerable low drive performance and switching losses. This paper suggests a plausible alternative. Simulation with the MATLAB Simulink tool demonstrates the effectiveness of a driving system using neutral clamped multilayer inverters.
