Smart Walking Cane for Navigation of Visually Impaired

Smart walking cane for navigation of the visually impaired using Arduino UNO and OpenCV– presents the development of a smart system for navigation for blind people using Google App Maker. This develops one's own Application Programming Interface (API) for Blind and low-vision users. Google Application Developer also provides tools for designers who must develop transparency features in their applications. Here Arduino UNO embedded with moisture, ultrasonic sensor, and Google Maps Cloud is used for making a smart cane for the visually impaired. An ultrasonic sensor is used to support the detection of real-time obstacles while walking. With the help of Google Maps cloud connected to the Arduino UNO ideal route for the low-vision or visually impaired can be given. This will develop a smarter system that helps blind people to manage their day-to-day activities more accurately and safely. The blind people use audio commands to interact with the system. 4G technology is used to enable communication between the cloud platform and smartphone. The proposed system can give more information about the surrounding environment and exact route with low latency which supports real-time scenarios without the support of a third person.
