Train regulation during the unidirectional power supply shortage in metro system: A hybrid cooperative control and train timetable rescheduling approach

The fault of traction power supply system can lead to the unidirectional power supply shortage in a metro line. To reduce the impacts of fault on the train operation, a train regulation method is proposed in this paper. According to the power supply capacity in the metro line, the train regulation model is divided into three sub-models. In the undersupplied area, a cooperative control sub-model is formulated for trains to cooperatively apply the traction force. Then, a train timetable rescheduling sub-model is developed to maximize the line capacity in the well-supplied area during the fault. In the third sub-model, the train timetable during the recovery stage is rescheduled to quickly restore the planned train operation. Finally, a set of numeral examples is developed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed train regulation method.
