Cold Supply Chain Logistics with IoT to Ensure Quality and Security of the Transported Goods

Cold supply chain logistics is a transport logistics service where the packaged products which are stored in cold temperature are transported from one place to another. This project ensures the quality of the product and its security. A microcontroller based operation enables this project for dynamic control of the cooling system installed in the transport vehicle or the reefer containers. The real time data is sent to the logistics manager via cloud database and viewed through a mobile application. The complete monitoring of the data can be done at any part of the world with the use of cloud database. This project also enables tracking with an inbuilt GSM based GPS tracking system where the location of the vehicle can be monitored. A ultrasonic distance sensor based security device is used at the doors of the container to monitor the hatch. Whenever there is a possible breach, the sensor trips and activates the security system to capture photos of the breach occurred and sends it to the cloud data base where it is stored securely and alert is sent to the logistics.
