An Arduino Based Intelligent System to Reduce Accidents of Vehicles

Now these days accidents rates are high and one of the most important causes of accidents is the driver's failure to leave the required safety distance between his/her vehicle and the vehicle in front of him/her. An Arduino based intelligent system to reduce the accidents of vehicles project is a smart system consisting of sensors that help the driver maintain a safe distance between him/her and the vehicle in front of him/her in normal weather conditions and difficult weather conditions such as rain, sand storms and fog. This system will guide the driver as to what speed the vehicle can be at if the driver will reduce or increase his speed accordingly. A model has been designed for this project. Ultrasonic distance sensor rain sensor, liquid crystal display with I2C,4 gear motors, motor driver and an Arduino UNO are used in the model. The ultrasonic sensor will measure the distance and depending on an equation that has been deduced from calculations of the safe distances according to certain speeds, the safe speed will be found, but if there is rain the rain sensor will indicate this and the equation will be different, note that the only variable in these two equations is the distance that the ultrasonic is measuring it. Also, a vibration sensor is used to turn off the vehicle if it is involved in an accident, because there is a possibility that the vehicle will explode if the damage is on the frontal area of the vehicle. There is another possibility that the driver is injured or unconscious.
