Spatial Positioning and Annotations for Dissemination of Information

The paper provides an architecture for building a computational infrastructure with embedded and remote data repositories to facilitate dissemination of information through annotations. This expedites the users ability to provide and retrieve real-time information on recent events in their locale. The approach utilizes processing of architectural floor plans, GPS coordinates, IMU sensor values and WiFi RSSI values to extrapolate a different set of spatial coordinates, to display 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional annotations on synthetic blueprints(2D maps) and captured video frames respectively(AR). Commodity hardware present on smartphones possess afore-mentioned instrumentation and the required computational power, providing the ability to disseminate information during real-time events in institutions, museums, libraries, hospitals, marketplaces, airports and construction sites.
