Secure Rolling Code Generation for Remote Keyless Entry Systems Using AES-CTR, Encryption with ChaCha20

The increasing integration of technology in automotive systems has led to the widespread adoption of remote keyless entry systems for vehicles. However, the convenience of such systems is accompanied by security challenges, as unauthorized access to vehicles poses a significant threat. This project proposes a robust solution to enhance the security of remote keyless entry systems by leveraging advanced encryption algorithms, namely AES-CTR and ChaCha20. The primary focus is on generating rolling codes with time stamp that ensure secure communication between the key fob and the car, effectively preventing unauthorized access. A Remote Keyless Entry System is a method of locking or unlocking the doors remotely, without the use of a physical key. Rolling codes provide secure communication between the sender and the receiver by generating a new code each time the key fob is used to unlock the system. AES CTR algorithm provides secure encryption of the rolling code by generating a stream cipher that is XORed with the plaintext to produce the ciphertext. ChaCha20 encryption algorithm provides a secure transmission of the rolling code over the wireless channel by encrypting the ciphertext with a shared key. The proposed solution ensures secure and reliable communication between the sender and receiver, preventing unauthorized access.
