ML Based Web Application for Smart Parking System

Number of vehicles and their usage has drastically increased in the last ten years. With the increase in population and urbanization at a much faster rate, the parking slots have reduced to 70 percent. This has become an inconvenience for the users and has created additional issues. With the help of advancements in technology, a smart and better system to manage the available parking slots at any given place can drastically improve the current situation. Hence, we present a fully automated smart system for people to look for empty parking slots available nearest to the destination they are travelling to. Public users can be able to query the destination location they are planning to travel to, and the application will display the nearby available parking spaces. Availability of parking spaces is curated using IoT devices,Object detection models and is later updated in the database designed for the application which is further used to display the results. Unlike primitive ways that use multiple sensors and solutions that doesn’t provide a smart, all under one roof application, this system provides a highly user friendly, yet sophisticated web application that covers all the needs to optimally manage parking lots in cities.
