Rehabilitation of the finger impairment using shape memory spring actuated device

This article presents a shape memory spring based device designed for the rehabilitation of finger impairments. The device utilizes the unique properties of shape memory alloys (SMAs) to provide controlled mechanical assistance and stimulation during the rehabilitation process. The objective of this device is to address specific finger impairments such as limited range of motion or reduced finger strength. The simulation-based development of the device involves mechanical modeling and numerical analysis techniques. Finite Element Analysis (FEA), is employed to simulate the behaviour of the device; different movements are evaluated by applying forces to the device and observing its response. The experimental validation and quantifiable studies validate the efficacy and safety of the device in real-world rehabilitation situations.
