Motion Recognition Usingdual-layer Passive mm-Wave Reflectarray for a Smart Toilet

This study presents a reflectarray antenna designed for non-contact human monitoring at 24 GHz millimeter-wave frequencies. The dual-layer antenna, featuring a cross and circular ring patch per element, provides wide-band performance across millimeter-wave wireless communication 23-26 GHz frequencies. Its advantages include low profile, cost-effectiveness, lightweight construction, small size, and user-friendly operation. The reflectarray exhibits exceptional polarization characteristics and high efficiency, as verified through far-field tests. This innovative reflectarray metasurface holds potential for applications in smart homes, smart cities, human-device interfaces, health monitoring, and safety screening.
