Heat Dissipation Design of Active Integrated Antenna for 24GHz Wireless Power Transfer System

To construct a battery-less sensor network, it is considered to use a wireless information and energy transmission system. A millimeter-wave band active integrated antenna-type phased array is used for efficient energy transmission in this system. To transmit high power, a high-output module is required, and a heat dissipation design is important. This time, we designed the thermal equivalent circuit of the module for the 24GHz band wireless information and energy transmission system. As a result, in continuous operation, the temperature rise estimated from the thermal equivalent circuit and the measured temperature change were in good agreement, and the channel temperature of the final amplifier could be maintained below 145°C.
