An Efficient Preconditioner with MLFMA for Inductance Extraction of 3D Packaging Structures

In order to extract the inductance of 3D packaging structures, the partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method accelerated by multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) is used in this paper. For the sake of fasten the speed of iterative solutions, a sparse approximation inverse (SAI) matrix of the modified nodal analysis (MNA) is constructed. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the validity of this preconditioner to reduce the iteration steps and computational time.
