Efficient OTA Measurement Using TCATR with Multiple Rotational Plane Waves

This paper presents the design and discussion of a Toroidal CATR (TCATR) system that utilizes multiple rotational plane waves propagating toward the quiet zone (QZ). By employing a toroidal reflector without edge discontinuities and locating the plane wave generators inside an additional anechoic chamber, the TCATR system achieves minimal phase and magnitude ripple within the quiet zone. The TCATR system not only speeds up the measurement of TRP (Total Radiation Power) and TIS (Total Isotropic Sensitivity) but also enables the simulation of multiple Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites for ground User Terminal (UT) system measurements.
