Hysteresis, magnetostriction and domain structure of soft magnetic nanocrystalline Fe based compounds

Compounds of the compositions Fe/sub 73.5/Cu/sub 1/Nb/sub 3/Si/sub 13.5/B/sub 9/ and Fe/sub 73.5/Cu/sub 1/Nb/sub 3/Si/sub 16.5/B/sub 6/ were studied in the as-cast state and after heat treatments. In the latter case the materials have a nanocrystalline structure. The stress dependence of the hysteresis loop and the magnetostriction was measured for the samples. In addition, the domain structure was studied. In the heat-treated material, a change in the sign of the magnetostriction constant was found with change in the external field.<
