Theoretical and experimental assessment of solar greenhouse dryer for coffee beans. Case study for the district of Lalaquiz (Huancabamba, Piura, Peru)

In this work, a solar greenhouse dryer has been developed to carry out the drying process of parchment coffee beans despite the adverse climatic conditions of the area where they have been implemented, maintain the safety of the beans throughout the process, and reduce drying time, which will allow obtaining a product with better organoleptic properties and greater market value. Fifty dryers of this type have been built in the district of Lalaquiz, Huancabamba, Piura (Peru), and their correct operation has been verified by analyzing the temperature and relative humidity of the drying air at three strategic points of the dryer, as well as the speed of evacuation of the drying air through its chimney. The results of this evaluation are shown in this work.
