UWB-Based Intelligent Positioning Method for Indoor Complex Environments

With the rapid development of Internet of things (IoT) technology, the application market for localization services and related technologies has expanded significantly. This paper addresses the current demand for indoor localization services by proposing an intelligent indoor positioning solution based on ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. In the proposed indoor positioning approach, we employ the double-sided two-way ranging method based on time of arrival (TOA) and incorporate adaptive extended Kalman filter to optimize and correct distance measurements. In the UWB positioning method, considering the characteristics of the indoor environment and the layout of base stations, we utilize an adaptive least squares positioning algorithm to achieve precise target localization. Finally, a series of experiments are conducted to test the indoor positioning technology. The experimental results demonstrate that the indoor positioning method proposed in this paper achieves an average positioning error of 0.39m under non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation conditions, effectively meeting the positioning service requirements for large indoor spaces.
