Symmteric and Integrated FSO and RGB LEDs based VLC System under Severe Climate Conditions

A 4×10Gbps symmetric as well as bidirectional integrated visible light communication-free space optics (VLC-FSO) system is reported under distinct climate conditions. Results indicate that proposed design allows maximum FSO range of 3900-4800m along with 10m VLC range at 10Gbps/channel rate under air as well as rain at Q limit of 6dB. Compared to blue and green light emitting diodes (LEDs), red LED illustrates higher performance with receiver sensitivity of -5dBm (in rain) and -6dBm (in fog) at bit error direction. Moreover, minimum receiver sensitivity of less than -5dBm is obtain in both rain as well as fog conditions using red LED. Also, compared to other designs, the proposed design offers best performance.
