Design of High Efficiency Microstrip Bandpass Filtering Power Amplifier

This paper proposes a novel power amplifier structure based on microstrip hairpin filter. By introducing an impedance transformation network, a hairpin bandpass filter circuit is used on the output matching network of the power amplifier so that the power amplifier can have both signal amplification and filtering functions. To verify the method's effectiveness, the power amplifier that can operate at 2.4-2.7 GHz is designed using CGH40010F GaN transistors. The simulation results show that the amplifier has a gain of 11 dB in the working band, the power added efficiency (PAE) in the range of 60%-68%, the saturated output power of 41.7 dBm, and the power added efficiency outside the passband range is close to 0%, which has a good suppression effect.
