Lesson Practice on Design of Turbine for Ocean Current Power Generation Using Simple 3DCAD

The purpose of this study is to construct a teaching process that integrates the learning of “materials and processing technology” and “energy conversion technology” using “design of turbines for ocean current power generation” as the subject matter, and to verify the effectiveness of the teaching practice. Specifically, in the “Materials and Processing Technology” class, students learned the design and fabrication of turbines using 3D CAD software, as well as the polishing and finishing of turbines. In the “Energy Conversion Technology” class, students learned about the mechanism of ocean current power generation and the differences in power generation efficiency depending on turbine shape through experiments. As a result, the students were able to engage in design and fabrication activities with interest in fabrication activities using 3D CAD software and 3D printers, and they also enjoyed the classes. In addition, it was suggested that the students’ interest in ocean current power generation and the global environment increased, and their awareness of saving electricity and using renewable energy increased
